Living less than an hour from Texas growing up meant I was able to experience many of the wonderful things Texas has to offer; the foods, the unique places to visit, the history, etc. Since moving, I no longer have the chance to visit Texas very often so I was very excited to discover that Texas is coming to us! There is a fantastic tour traveling the country teaching families about the rich culture of Texas. This tour is called Texas on Tour, check out this schedule to find out which tour stop is closest to you! This is one tour definitely worth checking out!
*Bite of Seattle Seattle, WA 7/15-7/17
*Ohio State Fair Columbus, OH 7/27-7/31
*Iowa State Fair Des Moines, IA 8/11-8/21
*Minnesota State Fair St. Paul, MN 8/25- 8/28
The tour provides the opportunity for you to discover all that Texas has to offer! You can explore the gorgeous Texas coastline via a virtual beach, watch a film and play a little Texas trivia inside the dome theatre, splash your way across the the state in a virtual kayaking adventures and so much more!
There are so many wonderful places to visit in Texas and I can’t wait to plan a mini family vacation. I would love to visit Galvestan, Houston and especially San Antonio! Here’s some fun information about San Antonio:
San Antonio is a vibrant city of legendary history and flourishing cultures. This is the perfect year to experience the Alamo as 2011 marks the 175th anniversary of the legendary Battle of the Alamo. Plus stroll the newly expanded River Walk, explore museums and dine on nationally acclaimed cuisine. One of America’s most affordable and friendly cities, make San Antonio your next vacation destination. Go to visitsanantonio.com to learn more.
Although we haven’t been to visit just yet it is on our list of places to see and I’ve heard its amazing! Texas is a great place to visit, especially during summer vacation and I encourage you to take a moment and check out everything Texas has to offer! I would love to visit Texas some day and see all it has to offer and try some of the local joints for some good food.
Texas is so big, how do I choose one place I want to visit? I’ve got a friend in Texas, I guess I’d visit her… but I don’t remember what city she lives in!
