Arkansas summers usually mean one thing…miserably hot temperatures. This summer made sure to prove that point, setting records of temps that reached 114! Yes, actual temp…before heat index! I know it gets insanely hot here but these temperatures have been ridiculous. Record high temps meant that our summer days were spent trapped in the house, poor Abby had to wait until almost dark just to go outside to play and by then the pesky mosquitoes were coming out. The few times we did try to play outside she would get so hot within minutes that we kept taking breaks to cool off in the house. And once my little sweetheart is outside she has no intention of coming in until she’s ready so she wasn’t happy with all the in and out trips. Luckily, summer is now fading into Fall and we have already had a few nice Fall like days. After extreme temperatures, a day in the 80’s feels amazing! Labor Day was the first really nice, pretty, cool day and we just hated to stay inside. Hubby took half a day off work so we could take Abby to the park and enjoy the beautiful day. She had so much fun running and playing, by the time we headed home she was worn out. I love Fall and the cooler temps and this week is looking quite promising for more wonderful outside time (well…besides the slight chance of rain!) with amazing temps, some days only in the low 70’s! Time to do a little shopping for Fall clothes 🙂 I’m ready for Fall, ready to decorate the house and enjoy the nice weather with my family.
I love looking at other people’s fun day posts 🙂 Looks like y’all had a great time!
