With the weather finally cooling off and the leaves changing to beautiful Fall colors, I started asking hubby if we could get some pictures taken. Mainly I wanted some new ones of Abby, she’s gotten SO big plus we just got her hair cut and I wanted new pictures showing off her adorable new bangs (and yes….her first haircut …she’s just 19 months old lol). Hubby has been saying for months now that he wants some family pictures done. Believe it or not, we have no family pictures…no professional pictures anyways. Sure, we have cute pictures of us at Holiday House last year and at Thanksgiving that my sister took but nothing professional. To be honest, hubby and I don’t have any professional pictures of us since we got married five years ago. With so many of the wonderful military spouses here on base posting about their photography, I decided to look into several of them and see what I could do about getting some new pictures. Now that we are settled into the new house it’s time to put up pictures and I want new photos for my frames!
We set up a couple of shoots, a mini shoot with one girl and another with one of the ladies who was just getting her photography business going here. She was offering a few free shoots to help build up her portfolio so I contacted her about working together. Abby is at the age where if she’s in no mood to have her picture taken, you can forget about getting her to smile and cooperate. She doesn’t like to sit still and likes to do things her way. I thought it would be best to see how she did before paying the big bucks for some pictures. At one of the last shoots we did that we paid for she wouldn’t smile and definitely didn’t want her picture taken. She’s definitely entering the terrible twos!!
I spent a few days talking with the photographer, we discussed locations and I explained to her Abby’s moodiness. She wanted practice to build up her portfolio and I wanted cute pictures so it was a win-win situation. Besides, what is better practice than a stubborn toddler lol
We met Tacara (Tacara Anderson Photography) during the late morning, a great time for Abby, and although Abby was unsure about things at first it didn’t take her long to warm up to Tacara and become more willing to let go of her daddy’s hand. Tacara definitely has a way with children, she’s extremely patient and took the time to let Abby get to know her before pulling the camera up to shoot pictures. Other photographers just stick people where they want them and start shooting away, they don’t take time to make sure children are comfortable and happy, they often don’t even listen to requests. Tacara is completely different. She allowed Abby to do her own thing, she didn’t try to force Abby to sit here or stand there. Nope, Abby is a busy little girl and she likes to run and explore. Abby definitely kept Tacara busy running around but that was something else I loved about Tacara’s style of photography. She captured Abby being herself, natural and the priceless expressions of pure delight when she saw something or curiosity when she was exploring. Sure, there were a few times that Tacara helped direct us to a certain place and helped pose us for a few pictures, but overall she just captured the natural pictures of a family enjoying the beautiful day together.
Here are just a few of the pictures from our photoshoot, it was mainly just a shoot for Abby but we did a few unexpected family shots which hubby complained he wasn’t dressed right for lol (and it was insanely difficult to select just a few to share, there are so many that I absolutely love):
I am so excited to receive the CD of pictures so that I can print out several to frame and display. Hubby has even picked a few that he wants printed in large prints to frame. We are exceptionally pleased with the pictures from the photoshoot and have already started planning a holiday family shoot with Tacara.
For a little more information about Tacara Anderson Photography check her out on Facebook! Tacara is just getting her photography business started and already offers many different types of photoshoots. Anything from maternity to children, family or couples to military. Her prices are quite reasonable and the experience she provides is hard to beat. Her patience is hard to find in photographers, especially her patience with children. She takes time to talk and to a pre photoshoot consultation so that she knows what the customer is wanting, their likes and dislikes, etc. She takes the time to listen, she’s not going to make someone stand by a tree when what they are hoping for is pictures by the water. She makes sure that the customer gets what they are wanting from the photoshoot. She also treats each person with respect and makes them the number one importance during their shoot, she doesn’t try to work with several at one time and especially doesn’t make one feel like their shoot doesn’t matter. She sets aside time for a shoot and that time belongs to the customer and she makes sure they walk away happy. I highly recommend Tacara Anderson Photography and if you’re ever in the area and need pictures you should definitely look her up!
*I was not asked in any way to provide a review of our photoshoot with Tacara Anderson Photography. I am just expressing my opinion of our experience with our photographer and our experience during the photoshoot. These are my honest thoughts and opinions. Plus I just wanted to share our fun day and cute pictures with everyone! 🙂
