It’s that time of year again! Children’s Clothing Spring Consignment Sales and my absolute favorite, Rhea Lana’s, is coming up soon! No idea what Rhea Lana’s is? You are definitely missing out so let me take a moment to quickly fill you in.
Rhea Lana’s is the nation’s premier children’s consignment event venue with numerous events in 17 states! At Rhea Lana’s you can find name brand children’s clothing, toys, furniture, pretty much anything and everything you need for your little ones at amazing prices! Better yet, not only can you stock up on clothing and items for your child BUT you can also sale clothing & toys your child has outgrown! So while you’re shopping and saving you can also be making money! We all know that it can get really expensive when it comes to little ones so this is a win win situation.
Rhea Lana’s announces it’s sale dates twice a year, once during the Spring and again in the Fall, just in time to stock up on clothing needed as the weather changes. Here in AR, there are numerous cities Rhea Lana’s comes to and I’m lucky enough to live within traveling distance of several of them. I can honestly say that since Abby was born I have rarely bought her any clothing brand new at the actual stores. Oh she has tons of brand new clothes, tons of adorable outfits that are name brand such as Gymboree, Children’s Place, Old Navy, etc and she definitely has always had a closet full. I have stocked her closet each Spring and Fall by attending Rhea Lana’s. I have found all the jeans, tees, coats, everything that she has needed and many items I found with tags still attached. I even went to the consignment event before having Abby. I attended many times with my sister to help her shop for my niece, she’s actually who got me hooked on Rhea Lana’s! Then once I found out I was pregnant I started shopping for myself, purchasing our boppy (brand new), our travel pack n play, bumbo, glider & ottoman, toys, blankets and clothing to help stock the nursery. When I sit down and really look at my totals and compare, I have saved hundreds!!
Here’s a small price comparison of a few things I’ve purchased in the past:
Boppy
Brand New in store: retails for about $50.00
Price I paid at Rhea Lana’s for one Brand New in original package: $10.00
Bumbo
Brand New in store: retails for about $45.00
Price I paid at Rhea Lana’s for one in excellent condition: $15.00
Gymboree Outfits
Brand New in store: prices vary but can be about $10-$30 per item
Prices I paid at Rhea Lana’s: $10 for an entire outfit NWT, $3 for a shirt NWT, etc.
Sitting here thinking of my saving got me curious and I went looking for one of my recent receipts, I purchased 31 items for only $98. These items included 6 NWT Gymboree outfits, several more Gymboree outfits in excellent condition, a NWT Gymboree coat, NWT Children’s Place, Old Navy and Carter’s pajamas, several more outfits and shirts. The 6 NWT Gymoboree outfits and coat alone could have cost me $300 -$430 at the store (depending on if I went during a sale with coupons). The savings are amazing, my child has everything she needs and I didn’t kill our budget!
Since having Abby, I now not only attend the sale to shop but I also consign to help make money to cover the cost of her clothing. With the amounts of clothing and toys my child has…especially the many, many items she never wore because she grew so fast, it only makes sense to consign and try to sell everything. I keep a tub handy and throughout the year I add things to it as she outgrows them. When the consignment sale dates are announced all I have to do is grab my tub, some hangers, a few other supplies and I’m ready to get my items entered into the system. This is another part of Rhea Lana’s that I love, the system for entering my items to consign is SO easy and quick, plus all the guidelines are easy to understand so I know what I can and can’t sell. Here is a page of FAQ‘s that might answer a few questions you’re thinking of now 🙂
So…a quick look back to my pricing comparison. I spent $98 yet I sold a good majority of what I consigned and made $120. That means I not only got everything for my daughter FREE but also MADE money all while shopping! Now it doesn’t always turn out this awesome, sometimes I spend more than I make and sometimes I don’t bother consigning at all (I lose track of time) but when I put a little effort into it I can really save big.
Interested yet? I can’t say it enough, go to Rhea Lana’s website and find a event location near you. Even if you have second thoughts just go for the experience, go and see for yourself! Go browse through the many racks of children’s clothing, sort through the toys and books, take a glance at the furniture for sale…all at affordable prices that help you save and still get everything you need! You find top quality, name brand items in great to new condition plus Rhea Lana’s does not allow any recalled items, broken toys, etc. so that helps eliminate those worries. With everyone trying to live off such a small budget lately, saving any way you can definitely helps and it just doesn’t get better than Rhea Lana’s when it comes to things for the little ones!!
For those of you from Arkansas, the Spring sale in West Little Rock is coming up in March:
