We get so caught up in our day to day crazy lives that we can lose sight of what is really important, family. I know we spend time together as we taxi the kids around, do homework or support the many sports and activities they are involved in. But what about good quality family time? If you are like our family we have a hard time squeezing it in. Here are some fun family date activities you can consider.
- Have a family game night. Bring out a game you have not played in a while or buy a new one. Make a special date snack, something you would not normally have.
- Movie night. I have noticed that at least once a month a good movie comes out that the whole family wants to see. If going to the theater is not in your budget, have movie night at home. Pop the popcorn, turn out the lights and have a blast!
- Plan a picnic. Now that the weather is warmer and the days are longer take the family for an evening picnic. Take a ball, frisbee, fishing poles or a kite.
- Mini-golf. Do you remember Put-Put? I still remember going with my family as a little girl and how much fun we had. Nothing like a little fun, loving competition for the family.
These are just a few ideas for family date night. We do not have to plan every week but as a family, everyone should set aside one day or night a month for much needed family time together.
