As a parent it’s important to me to proctect my child as best I can. Now that it’s warm weather again and we’re back to playing outside, I not only want to protect my daughter’s sensitive skin but also her eyes. Many don’t often think to protect little one’s eyes as much as their skin but the bright sunlight can hurt their little eyes. Besides, if the sun is bright enough that I want my sunglasses, I’m sure my daughter would appreciate a pair as well! There are many times the sun bothers her, of course when she’s outside running and playing but also when we’re in the car or at the zoo or even walking around a festival. The hard part has been finding a pair of sunshades that can stand up to a rough toddler! Plus finding a pair she will actually keep on. I can’t even count the numerous pairs I have bought her only to have them destroyed within minutes or her refuse to keep them on. The worst is in the car, she’ll pull them off within seconds of us leaving then get really upset when the sun is in her face. I decided to see if I could hunt down a pair of sunshades that durable enough to not only take the pulling and tugging of a toddler but also the running and playing of a very active toddler as well as a pair that I could keep on her.
Here is what I found:

Coverage: Sunglasses provide optimal eye protection with a wrap-around profile.
The younger the child is, the more vulnerable their eyes are. Unlike an adult’s eye, the lens in a child’s eye has almost no protective pigments. A child’s crystalline lens is totally transparent with a very large pupil. Children’s eyes therefore absorb much more harmful solar radiation than adults.
Even in the shade, the eyes are exposed to UV rays reflected by the clouds, water, snow, sand and asphalt. Sunglasses are important for eye protection for babies, just as they are for moms and dads!
Julbo’s popular Looping line of sunglasses are specially designed for babies, infants and toddlers. Three different sizes are offered in the Looping 1, 2 and 3. Choose the model according to the age of your child.
