Recently I decided to try something new and signed Abby up for a little boutique modeling. It’s nothing big but it’s so much fun! I listed her with a couple of wonderful model placement pages on Facebook and what they do is help get the models comp cards seen by boutiques looking for models to help showcase their bows, dresses, tutus, etc. These pages are not agencies or anything, they have several boutique partners who are looking for models and these boutiques can view the comp cards and pick who they want to model their items. In this day, it seems like almost everyone has a boutique on Facebook, everyone is making bows or creating custom outfits and in order to get your items seen it helps to have the items modeled. Great pictures showcasing the products really help sell items. So far we have gotten to model several things, lots of awesome bows, shirts and even a tutu dress! Most of the bookings are free and we keep the items sent to us in exchange for quality pictures that the boutique can use on their page/website. Sometimes there are casting calls to sign up for and we can pick if we want to sign up or not since it’s a discounted booking (always discounted to a model price but still, it isn’t free!). This has been especially fun for us since I have gotten my camera, I now get to practice and take Abby’s pictures myself! We also have a local photographer we use for shoots, especially when Abby is being stubborn for me or we need an indoor location. Abby definitely has fun with the modeling, I’m sure she doesn’t understand but she loves her bows and she loves telling me “pictures” which means she wants me to pull out my camera and take her picture (even when we are sitting in the house and I’m working on the computer lol). Here are a few pictures from recent shoots:
If you are interested getting your child started doing a little boutique modeling I encourage you to stop by Runway Exposure Models and check them out! The fee to list is quite reasonable and you definitely make your money back in just a few bookings with the items you receive! Also, if you’re a boutique that is interested in having your items modeled, you should definitely look into joining as a boutique partner (it’s free!)! If you do by chance decide to join, let them know we sent you!
Is it sad that now after writing this I have the song “I Want to be a Supermodel” stuck in my head? Actually just that one lyric 🙂
*please note that not all items modeled were booked through Runway Exposure Models, they are from different boutique modeling jobs Abby has been booked for. If you see an item you and would like to know the boutique who makes it just let me know!
Disclosure: I was not asked, nor compensated in any way, to write this blog post. I simply wanted to share our new love for boutique modeling and highlight one of the model pages we are currently listed with. All thoughts and opinions are my own and might differ from your’s; this is not a review but does express my honest, personal opinion of Runway Exposure Models as well as let’s me share more about one of my current blog sponsors. If you have any questions feel free to contact me or leave a message.
