Considering Abby is our first child, when I was pregnant I of course asked close friends and family their recommendations for items such as strollers, car seats, etc. I figured if they loved the item, trusted the brand, then it was what I should go with. That worked just fine for everything for quite a while, until it was time for Abby to advance to an umbrella stroller. My sweet girl has always been a big girl, she was the size of a two year old when she was only 15 months old. She even weighed more than my friends three year old daughter! She’s my little chunk and thankfully she has started to grow more upward and her weight has stayed more normal. The problem was, most umbrella strollers were small, narrow and extremely uncomfortable for her. She never looked comfortable, always like she was kinda snugly sitting in a very cramped space. It was no surprise that the stroller quickly started staying in the car much more than we actually used it. She lasted the total of maybe 10 minutes in it and then she wanted out to walk. I wasn’t even a big fan of the strollers we had, we went through three different ones! They seemed short and I was always bent over, they never really rolled all the smoothly and there was never any room to put anything!
Since Abby is only two and still needs a stroller for things like walking around the zoo, walking around festivals and even just going for walks I knew I had to figure something out. I needed to find a stroller that was made with more room so that she was comfortable and hopefully more willing to sit in it. As I searched I came across Joovy Strollers.
I honestly wish I had chosen to research items more than just going by what worked for friends and family. If I had done my research I would have discovered Joovy a long time ago and definitely would have had an easier time when it came to finding the perfect umbrella stroller for Abby.
I received the Kooper Stroller in red from Joovy to review and I was so excited to try it out. We actually decided at the very last minute to use it when we went to the big Easter Egg Hunt downtown, I figured after running around and playing that Abby would need a stroller. We hadn’t opened the box yet since it arrived the day before and we were running late (we are always running late!) so hubby wasn’t sure if we would be taking the Kooper with us or not. He figured it would take time to put it together and we just didn’t have time to spare. I got the box for hubby anyways figuring he could at least look at it, left the room to grab my camera real quick and when I returned to the living room the stroller was sitting there ready to go! Seriously, he was worried it would take forever and it barely took the time for me to walk to another room and back real quick. That was a huge plus for him but unfortunately for me it meant no pictures of the before process. While he got Abby ready to go I played around with it, trying it out to see how easy it was to push and how tall it was for someone like myself.
We unfortunately didn’t get to try it out at the Easter Egg Hunt but did give it a try at the zoo and at the Strawberry Festival.
The Kooper passed the cranky toddler test with flying colors! Abby was happy to sit in it and actually enjoyed sitting in it. She was comfortable, there was ample room for her, I loved that the canopy came down so far to help give her extra cover/protection from the sun, the stroller rolled smoothly and easily not only on sidewalks and pavement but also through rocks which is something most strollers don’t do well and overall it allowed both Abby and myself to enjoy the festival more. I think it really helped keep her cool, I enjoyed pushing her around in it and loved having extra space for my purchases and I know she (for once) enjoyed being about to sit and be pushed around. Another great feature is how easily the Kooper folds down and how little room it takes up in the trunk. Plus it’s so lightweight that I can put it in or take it out of the trunk with just one hand!

Okay, so the list basically tells you what I already have 🙂 but seriously, Joovy got it right! This really is the best stroller out there and the facts are just that, facts. I always read product descriptions and wonder how much is exagerated and if the product can really live up to what is said about it. The Kooper is one product that not only lives up to it’s description but exceeds it! I have recommended Joovy products, especially the strollers to everyone I know. Most will question the brand, it’s not one they are really familiar if at all familiar with. Plus most are like I was, they go with the brands they know are most common, that everyone talks about and that have been around forever. Well, just because you are not that familiar with a brand doesn’t mean you should write it off so quickly. I have tried many brands of strollers and the Kooper is by far the best out there. You can visit the website to find out more about the Kooper, all it’s features and information, as well as all the other amazing products Joovy offers.

**UPDATE**
It seems like my original post went missing when my blog went through some upgrade/technical issues. Lucky for me I tend to save all my posts so I didn’t have too much trouble getting it back up. Since I had to repost, I thought it would be fun to include a small update on our use of the Kooper.
The Kooper Stroller has been the perfect stroller to have, even now a couple of months later from my original blog post we still use it often. Abby of course now almost two and a half and very independent, she tends to always want to walk instead of being put in a stroller or buggy. With her Kooper stroller it’s a completely different story, any time we are at the mall or flea market and open the trunk to get the stroller out she actually asks for the stroller instead of telling me no! There is no more fighting with her to get her to ride in a stroller, no more only lasting 2 minutes before screaming to get down and definitely no more fighting with a stroller that is difficult to handle. Abby weighs 33 lbs (I’m sure she’ll eventually hate me for admitting her weight), she’s a big girl and is quite heavy. Add her plus my purse, her bag, a couple of shopping bags and the stroller is dealing with a lot of weight to haul yet I can easily push and control the Kooper with just one hand. For me, it’s a dream to push around the mall. No more am I giving the stroller to hubby to deal with, I’ll happily push it around while I shop. Abby loves it because she’s comfortable, she has so much more room and being comfortable means she’s more than happy to ride around in it.
