This is definitely my favorite time of year; I absolutely love the holidays and couldn’t wait to start dragging out the decorations and holiday movies for Abby. I was excited when I found out that three PBS hit series have a Halloween special this year! We adore PBS, we enjoy watching several of the great series together as a family and I love how educational the series are. PBS is one station I don’t mind Abby watching because I know the shoes are aimed towards her age and are not only educational but fun. Lately other “children” stations have started showing some not so great cartoon series and things that I would rather she not watch. She doesn’t watch much TV but when she does I want to make sure it’s something she can both enjoy and learn from.
WordWorld Kooky Spooky Halloween
The WordFriends get their share of scares the night before Halloween, when Pig sleep walks and everyone thinks he’s a ghost! Then, Sheep is making herself a super special fairy costume to wear for the big Halloween party. But what will she do when her WordFriends need pieces of her costume for their own use?
Sid the Science Kid Sid’s Spooky Halloween
It’s Halloween! Join Sid and his friends as they discover how bats catch mosquitoes, why spiders are expert engineer web builders, and how skeletons make up the foundation of our bodies. The kids dress up to celebrate Halloween at school, and Teacher Suzie leads them in a special Halloween parade song to show off their costumes! With Sid the Science Kid, Halloween can be spooky and scientific!
The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! Tricks and Treats
A new spooky adventure this DVD brings, with The Cat, Nick and Sally, Fish and the Things. Meet the eeriest critters you have ever seen, arrived just in time for this Halloween! There’ll be lots of tricks and, of course lots of treats, to share with the animal friends you will meet! There’s a coconut crab, spider monkeys and bats, and plenty more fun with The Cat in the Hat!
All three were a huge hit with Abby and are truly enjoyable, perfect for Halloween! With Halloween right around the corner these would be a great treat for any child; whether just for fun or even as a surprise for Halloween, these three DVDs are definitely a great choice!
I think my grandson would really enjoy WordWorld Kooky Spooky Halloween. He’s obsessed with letters right now!
My daughter loves the cat and the hat knows a lot about that!!
Too cute – Team umizoomi had a cute one this year too!
I wish I had seen this at Halloween time! My daughter would have loved the Cat in the Hat one.
