Christmas is less than a week away, but it’s not too late to find great gifts for those friends and family members still on your list. Last-minute gifts should be assembly free, so that 10-story dollhouse from blueprints is definitely out. Gifts available in stores are a plus too, because crossing your fingers and toes in hopes of extra-quick shipping is no fun. Keeping those constraints in mind, here are some last-minute gifts well deserving of a spot under the tree.
Board Games– From more complicated strategy games for adults to kid-friendly options, board games appeal to all sorts of folks. Board games make a great family or group gift and are available at a variety of price points too.
Gift Cards– It may not be the most creative option, but gift cards are easy to buy and are usually appreciated, especially by older kids and teens who likely don’t have much money of their own. Many grocery stores and drug stores sell gift cards for a variety of retailers, making your last minute shopping very convenient.
Something Sweet– The recipient’s favorite candy, cookie or other sweet treat will probably be a welcome gift. If you don’t know his or her tastes, it’s not too late to call a mutual friend or family member and ask.
Headphones– Just about any owner of an MP3 player or a computer will appreciate a nice pair of headphones. If the recipient likes to exercise while listening to music, consider ear buds with over-ear clips.
RC Helicopters– Perfect for aspiring pilots and adults who haven’t outgrown toys, radio-controlled helicopters provide hours of indoor and outdoor fun. Find them in toy, hobby or big-box stores.
Movie Passes– Like eating tasty food, watching movies is one of those things that just about everybody enjoys. Stop by a local movie theater and pick up a pair of passes. Make sure the theater has locations in the recipient’s town.
College or Sports Team T-Shirt– Does the giftee have a favorite college or a favorite sports team? If so, a shirt, or anything else, with the logo will make a wonderful gift. One caveat, finding this gift at the last-minute is easiest if the team or school is in your state or at least in your region.
A Stylish Hat and Scarf– Give a gift that makes cold winter days a little brighter. A new scarf and hat will add a fresh, new look to that everyday winter coat and will keep ears and necks warm on blustery days.
Coffee or Tea– Any caffeine lover will be happy to find some coffee or tea under the tree. Make the gift more festive by choosing a Christmas or a winter blend.
Art Supplies– Make an art set for the creative person in your life. Pair a sketchpad with some drawing pencils, watercolors with watercolor paper or paints with brushes and a canvas.
