Wow! Care Bears sure have changed since I was a little girl! I absolutely adored Care Bears when I was little so I have fond memories of watching the movies, I had the cute sheets, I had (still have actually) a few bears, yes I loved Care Bears and I have enjoyed sharing a childhood favorite with Abby. Care Bears hold a special meaning to us, we each had our own Care Bear when we were little and even my parents had a bear. My dad had Grumpy Bear, it fit his personality pretty well 🙂 Now that we are grown and have our own children, instead of calling him granddad or grandpa we have the kids call him Grumpy. And I started the tradition of getting him and all the grandkids a matching Grumpy Bear. When I discovered Care Bears on the Hub I was excited to introduce my childhood favorite, and her Grumpy’s namesake, to her! She immediately fell in love!

We were really excited when the DVD arrived to review and since it was a rainy day, we decided to enjoy watching it that very afternoon. Abby ran to get her Grumpy bear and blanket and we curled up to enjoy the fun episodes. She giggled as the colorful bears came on screen and quickly learned all their names, she got really excited when she saw Grumpy Bear! I love that the Care Bears each have their own personality and each helps teach children different important things like the good sportsmanship and friendship, to help others and be kind to others. Care Bears also show that each is unique in their own way and being different from each other is okay and even a good thing! I love the Care Bears and love being able to share them with Abby. There’s quite a bit on TV these days that I avoid for her, things that I would worry about her watching, worry about what she would learn from it but with the Care Bears I don’t have to worry at all. She loves the bears, she’s learning, she’s having fun and it makes her happy… what could be better!? Since receiving this DVD the Care Bears have become a must watch for her and have been added to our DVR recordings for rainy/sick days.
