I love Pinterest, I’m slightly addicted and have a very long list of craft projects and organizing ideas and recipes and… well just lots of ideas that I want to try someday. I have actually tried several recipes so far and I have gotten a few crafts ideas although I usually put my own spin to the idea and change it up a bit.
I was feeling quite crafty today, perhaps it’s the crazy weather but suddenly I decided to try a little art project that I’ve had my eye on for a little while. Please keep in mine… I am not artistic in any way. I’m crafty but when it comes to drawing, yeah I’m pretty darn terrible.
Anyways… here is the Pinterest Idea I’m going to attempt:
In order to help disguise the previous design that you could slightly see I decided to spray paint it a pretty blue. Kinda give it a pretty sky look. I love how the Pinterest one is on white but hey, I have to work with what I have. It’s different, I like it.
I pulled out our fun Crayola Washable Paints (washable is a must, even for me!) and got busy drawing my branch. Yep, kiddie paints and a cheap paint brush out of some kit Abby got. Can you tell that I don’t keep paint supplies in the house? I told you I’m not a artsy person, just a crafty person.
Ugh… I guess it will do for now
Now for the fun with my mini soda bottle. I went with hubby’s mini one from lunch because my canvas space was so small.
I mixed my dark pink with white to get a lighter pink
pretty!!!
and got busy creating flowers (I got so into my work I forgot to take any pictures until)
Final result…..
well, it’s not terrible I guess 🙂 Definitely not quite like the picture I pinned but I guess it was a decent first attempt. Perhaps I should stick to the crafty, creative projects and stay away from projects that require my drawing/artistic skills. I still play to hang it up in Abby’s room. She’ll know mommy worked hard to make it just for her.
It might not be perfect but I tried and I’m happy with it. I’m making goals for myself, instead of just pinning all these fantastic ideas and dreaming of having all these great things, I plan to start attempting some of the ideas! And I’ll have fun doing it and of course will share it all right here 🙂
Big apologizes for the crummy cell pics. This was totally spur of the moment while Hubby put together Abby’s swing set. My camera battery is totally dead and my memory card completely full. Plus I’m dealing with such a major migraine that I really didn’t even want to fool with taking any pictures but of course wanted to be able to share so my cell was the solution.
That’s so cute! I’m always looking for art projects to do with my kids. Thanks!

That’s a great, easy project! Yours didn’t turn out that bad at all!!
Easy art project! I may try and let my kids do this one themselves!
