Yes, I know that it’s silly to get excited over a plant but I just can’t help it! With Spring finally arriving (and hopefully staying this time), I have been wanting to get outside and work on the yard. Well, maybe not so much as “work on the yard” I’ll leave that up to hubby 🙂
Anyways, what I want to do is add a few things to the yard to help make it look pretty. Do you remember my wishing well I posted about last year? I had big plans for it… as you might have noticed there was never a post about what I actually did with it. Could be because I never did anything…
Sad, I know. I just couldn’t decide what to do. This time I’m determined to do something with it!
But forget about that for now, look at the awesome plant Hubby brought home for me!
I knew the perfect spot for it, we have this one odd square block to the side of the porch steps. No idea why except that it looks like it was put there for some kind of plant or yard decor. Whatever the reason, it made the perfect home for my new plant!
I have absolutely no idea what kind of plant it is, I mainly love the huge pot it’s in! It has looked like this since Hubby brought it home for me in January. It has actually just been sitting in the yard since then, I was more occupied with doctor visits and having surgery than dealing with a plant. The weather has been so gorgeous the past couple of days that we have spent most evenings outside. Spur of the moment (burst of energy I guess) I decided to drag it over to it’s new home, remove a few pesky weeds that decided to call it home and ponder on what exactly to do with it. I’m not sure if this is the extent of what the plant will look like or if it will grow/sprout/do something once it gets warmer but I know that it’s pretty darn ugly right now. I’m debating pulling it out and replanting pretty flowers. Tough decision!
I also want to do something with the pot itself. As you can see, it has a few issues. My problem is, I don’t quite know what I want to do with it. When I first spotted it, I thought of painting it a bright pretty color. Hubby looked at me as if I was crazy (he just doesn’t have a love for bright, pretty colors like I do)! Now I can’t really figure out what I want to do.
With severe storms moving in for the next couple of days I have a little time to think it over. And to ask around for suggestions 🙂 I love asking for other’s opinions! What do you think I should do with it?
**my apologizes again for the cell pics, these were spur of the moment pictures I decided to take and create a post with while outside working. Since I had my phone with me I just made to with it 🙂
That’s a cute wishing well. I’ve given up on having any kinds of plants or flowers in my yard until my kids are older. If they aren’t pulling them up, my husband is running over them with a lawnmower.
my daughter is pretty good about leaving my flowers in flower pots along, those in the yard are another story lol
You have such a weather, nice. We are sitting under the snow and now freezing rain here in Canada. I love your pics, that pot is awesome, is it big(just asking)?.
oh my gosh I’m so tired of cold weather, glad Spring is finally here. I’m not definite on the actual size, it’s quite large
We are trying to do our yard too butttt, neither my husband or I are really good at that sort of thing so we are ATTEMPTING to make it pretty.
lol don’t worry, I’m not that great at it either 🙂 I figured if I put flowers in these things I might stand a better chance at keeping them alive and not butchers by my husband lol
We love planting our flowers and garden this time of year too 🙂
