What better day to introduce you to the newest member of the family than National Cat Day!
Of course, I can’t forget to mention our Miss Prissy on National Cat Day.
We introduced her already and you can read more about Prissy HERE.

Now, for those that follow me on Instagram and are Facebook friends, you might have noticed a little black and white cat showing up in a few pictures.
Well, let me introduce you to Nazboo!

Nazboo’s story is definitely world’s different than Prissy’s.
The biggest difference, Nazboo adopted us and decided we would be her family.
A few months ago, my husband was working in our storage building when he started seeing signs of an animal in the building. Now, we have tons of animals out here, we are definitely out in the country so racoons, opossums, rabbits, they are all just part of the family (I’m kidding although one racoon does believe he’s part of the family). My husband started investigating and heard this tiny little cry. He finally found this itty bitty kitten buried among the boxes. We have no idea how the kitten got in there unless it wandered in while my husband was working one day but somehow, it found itself in the storage building and we’re not sure how many days it had been in there.
And my husband… don’t let him fool you! He says he hates cats but he immediately got some food and water for this little kitten. He even went to town and purchased food and water bowls!

Eventually the kitten started coming to the carport once it figured out there was food and it was safe. The one thing that drove me bonkers was it absolutely loved hiding up in my vehicle. So any time we got ready to leave we have to make sure she wasn’t up under the hood. Talk about nervewracking! I was terrified something would happen!

Little by little, the kitten became less nervous around us. She started coming up to us when we brought the food and then slowly started loving on us. And just like that, one day she declared us her’s and she started climbing in my husband’s lap and just made herself at home! I had an old bedspread that I told my husband to toss and he put it in my chair and before he could toss it, the kitten claimed it as her new bed.
I decided since the kitten was here to stay, she needed a name. We tossed several around and our daughter finally decided on Nazboo. Wondering where the name came from? My daughter loves Shimmer and Shine and we all love Nazboo. Plus, the kitten’s personality reminds us of Nazboo haha.

Long gone are the scared, nervous kitten days. Nazboo loves to curl up in our laps, stays right under foot, loves helping me do laundry and even begs to come in the house (we will let her once we visit the vet tomorrow, due to being out in the country and around so many animals, she has to be tested to make sure she doesn’t have anything she could pass to Prissy).

And my goodness at the difference just two months makes! No more scrawny kitten, Nazboo has gotten big and now looks healthy and happy!

Oh…. and Mr. “I don’t like cats” is Nazboo’s favorite person! And this is Nazboo’s favorite spot! HAHA Any time my husband sits outside to smoke, Nazboo climbs up on his shoulders. Nazboo also loves to get in my husband’s work van while he’s doing parts and often joins him in the storage building to help put things away.

So this is how we went from a one pet family to a two pet family.
Nazboo chose us to be her family and we have all fallen in love with her.
What about you? Do you have pets? What kind? Did you adopt or were you adopted? I would love to hear your stories!
