Snowmageddon
Snowapocalopse
Winter Storm 2021
Call it whatever you want.
One thing for certain, it’s something most of us have never seen before. Sure, we have had snow in Arkansas before. We had snow on Christmas Day back in 2012 (Abby’s first snow) and it snowed just a few years ago but it’s always just been a few inches. Usually never more than one or two inches, just enough to make driving a little hazardous for school buses.
Never like this.
Never two storms back to back.
Never 7+ inches one day.
and another 6-12 inches (or more in some areas) two days later!
Never a “Round Two” and “make sure to clear a spot so you can measure the new amount of snow”.
Never 0 degrees, never mind temps in the negatives. Windchill yes, actual temps, no.
The Arkansas River is frozen. There are “icebergs” on the Arkansas River.
This week is one many of us have never experienced before, one many will never forget. We prepared, we bundled up, we dealt with things going wrong, with cancellations, we have made the best of the situation, we made memories and enjoyed the experience. And now we’re more than ready for the snow to be done…. it’s still currently falling…
Here’s a few pictures of our “Winter Wonderland” and my silly child playing in the snow. This set of pictures are from Monday, our “Round One” and when we got 7-10 inches of Snow.

And here’s a few pictures from Wednesday’s Round Two. At the time of my writing (8:20pm) the snow was still heavily falling. We did not go out to play today, we will go out on Thursday. I’ll grab more pictures then as well.

We are thankful to still have power and heat (although our electric company keeps posting about possible forced outages but it could be worse, it could be a lot worse).
Our hot water is frozen but we do still have water.
Groceries are starting to run a little low, I’m thankful my husband was able to get out just long enough yesterday to get my medicine (due to him being on work route he could not grab groceries or anything but I had to have my medicine. He was lucky he even made it to town.).
Funny thing…. forecast shows temperatures to be in the 60s for Tuesday.
Welcome to Arkansas….
Many prayers for those in Texas, Arkansas and surrounding areas who are dealing with this winter storm. Those without power, without heat, those in need of help and assistance. Prayers to the families who have lost loved ones during this winter weather.
