Synopsis:
My Thoughts:

Usually I decide if I want to read a book based on the synopsis and book reviews.
Tokyo Ever After is a book that the cover and title alone captured my interest and I immediately added the book to my wish list.
I knew this would be a book I would fully enjoy.
Royalty…. Japanese Culture…. a “Princess Diaries” like retelling…
This was a MUST read for me!
I was so excited when I finally got this book and of course I moved it to the top of my TBR.
And it did not disappoint.
Imagine not only suddenly discovering your dad (whom you have never met) is royalty and you’re a princess but in another country where you have to learn their culture and everything. You already didn’t fit in but hey, let’s add a tiara!
Hello Princess Diaries with a Japanese twist!
Tokyo Ever After combines two favorites, Japanese culture and royalty.
Perfect combination for an amazing story!
The author does a great job transporting us and immersing us into the story and culture.
The main character Izumi (Izzy) is relatable, first feeling like she’s not “American” enough and then not “Japanese” enough, and entertaining as she goes from feeling like an outsider in the mostly white Northern CA community where she lives with her mom to suddenly flying to Japan to meet her dad and begin a royal life after discovering she’s a princess. Add in a little romance with a hot bodyguard and overall, we have a fun romantic story.
