Budget-Friendly Decorations
Like most, I love decorating for holidays and special occasions. Like most, I’m also dealing with a limited budget when it comes to decorating so I find ways to stretch that budget as well as creative ways to create unique decorations. One of my favorite ways to keep things budget-friendly is to find items I already own, already have in my craft bins, and create something new with them. Which is what I have done with today’s fun little DIY.
A Long-forgotten Craft
Hiding among all the odds and Ends, random little trinkets, a bunch of randomness that I call my craft bins is three wooden pieces… these specific items were actually part of a kids craft Spring Break event I signed her up for two years ago. Well, COVID cancelled the event but we received the crafts to complete at home. This little bunny is one we never got around to do anything with…
Until now!
Craft Time!
I started with a simple, plain wood bunny cutout

I printed an Easter Egg coloring page simply to have an egg outline.
I can’t draw a circle, I definitely can’t draw an egg!

For the first time ever, I decided to do things differently and tape off the separate paint area.
I HATE this and will just continue doing things my way from now on.

Okay, ready to paint!
The plain brown just wasn’t working…

okay, much better! My little helper thinks so as well!

Now for the egg, a few layers of pink and it’s time to decorate the egg!

And this is where it started storming, the lights were flickering and I forgot all about pictures.
I simply free-handed fun decorations, painted with bright colors then outlined with metallic pens.

I felt it was missing something something…
so I searched for this bag of bows I remember adding to my craft bin. I have this habit of holding onto things “just in case” and this time, I’m glad I did!

A fun little bow and our Easter Bunny is all ready to hide the Easter Egg!

This was a quick, easy DIY with items I had laying around the house. However, if you wanted to make one, it would still be extremely budget friendly.
